You are helping women like Angie

Your generosity will change the lives of children and adults across ECS programs, including lives like Angie's.

As a compassionate nurse, Angie cared for those in need at times when they could not care for themselves. Little did she know that one day she would need help from someone like you for her healing.

With an erratic night schedule, Angie was exhausted yet unable to sleep. To seek relief, she turned to prescription drugs, but when a personal tragedy struck, she began to use the drugs to numb her pain. After eight years of increasing use, she started blacking out, losing her memory.

Then, she lost everything. A driving incident led to an accident, resulting in three months in jail and an awakening that it was time to change. Her change happened at our Central East Regional Recovery Center.

Seeing her today, with her enthusiasm and bright smile, you would not know what she has been through. Angie credits her transformation to her counselors at CERRC. She speaks joyously of the techniques she learned to cope with triggers and a genuine commitment to her sobriety.

"We learned a lot, like being mindful and being able to focus on different things when we're feeling triggered to take drugs. Summer was my counselor, and she's amazing. Her story is amazing. She has a lot to offer."

"You feel great in knowing that you're not alone. You're not the only one who's ever gone down this road or been through something like this. And everyone here is here to help."

Angie's story is a testament to the impact of your support, but there is more work to be done. Your gift today makes it possible.
